The 6 Ps of Success

P #2 – PURPOSE

(click here to read the first “P” – passion)

For me purpose boils down to 2 things:

Who do you help?

and

What do you do for them?

Purpose is essential to success. It gives us a sense of fulfillment and a meaning for what we do.  It is really an indicator of your motivation.

[mk_blockquote style=”quote-style” font_family=”none” text_size=”12″ align=”left”]If Passion is why you love what you do, Purpose is why you DO what you do.[/mk_blockquote]

Have you ever had the experience of doing more for someone else than you would have ever done for yourself?  I sure have.

Having a clear purpose keeps the ego in check. It allows us the opportunity to think and act beyond and bigger than ourselves.

The interesting about that is that by focusing more on others we often achieve even more for ourselves as well.

For speakers, trainers and entrepreneurs I think is important to remember WHY we do what we do. Even though the spotlights are aimed at the person on the stage the focus should always be on serving the people in the seats and your customers.

My purpose is to give speakers, authors, coaches and entrepreneurs the confidence and competence to share their products and services through speaking so that they may create positive change in this world.

I leave you with 2 suggestions:

  • If you are not sure of your purpose, then figure it out.
  • If you ARE sure of your purpose, remind yourself of it every day.
